Do you remember Oakville Arena in the 50s, 60s and 70s? Maybe you learned to skate there in the 80s and 90s?

Share your Oakville Arena photos and stories by email to recreation@oakville.ca by Friday, March 11, 2016 for a chance to have it displayed at the final Oakville Arena public skates on March 20, 2016, as well as in the new arena in 2018.

Please include your name, contact information and details about the photo (year, names, event, etc.). All submissions received by March 11 will be reviewed by Town of Oakville staff based on production quality. Photos should be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi) and submitted as a jpeg, tiff or PDF. Stories, articles, fun facts, etc. can be submitted as an email or Word Document. Please limit the word count to 400 words.

The Town of Oakville reserves the right to use excerpts from submissions as part of the display. There is no limit to the number of submissions per person. Open the Oakville Arena Submission Criteria PDF (25 kB) for more information.

The Town of Oakville invites you to say "goodbye" until we say "hello" to the new Oakville Arena in 2018 with two FREE skates! Enjoy free skating, cake, cookies and hot beverages on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 1-2:30 p.m. and 3-4:30 p.m. at Oakville Arena.*

*While supplies last. All participants must wear skates, and helmets are strongly recommended for adults and mandatory for children. Capacity restrictions apply.
