Meet The Board
Doug Sams
In March of 2014, Doug Sams was appointed Executive Director of the Kerr Village BIA. Going on his fourth full year he has coordinated the growth of Kerrfest along with several new events and initiatives. The growth and vibe of Kerr Village has been very positive. Sams’s resume includes over 15 years of leadership, planning, administration, marketing, and public relations in the local sector. His two degrees include a Masters of Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. In addition he has worked with groups to improve performance, served on boards and management teams, and also has experience being a board chairman. He just completed a two year term on the Ontario Business Improvement Area Association (OBIAA) Board of Directors. Doug has experience as an instructor, leader and fundraiser at the collegiate level. Having served as a staff member at Oregon State, Idaho State, Northern Iowa, Urbana University, Fairmont State, Northern Michigan, Stanford, Delaware State, and Edinboro University. Doug has lived throughout Canada, living in Montreal, Edmonton, Ottawa and now the GTA. Hobbies include coaching football, running, golf, reading, movies, and community theatre.
